Municipal Health Holdings is a family practice group of five physicians
working out of the base clinic located in Maidstone, Saskatchewan, with six
clinics in surrounding communities. Maidstone is located approximately 30
minutes from the City of Lloydminster (pop. 21,000), and 2 hours from the City
of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (pop. 200,000) and 2.5 hours from the City of
Edmonton, Alberta (pop. 1,000,000). The geographical area has many picturesque
wooded hilly areas which combined with the scenic views of the Big Gully and
North Saskatchewan River Valleys offer many attractions for nature lovers,
hunters, fisherman and outdoor enthusiasts. To the immediate north are the
boreal forests and pristine lakes with numerous campgrounds.
Municipal Health Holdings provides a A turnkey operation@ including fully
equipped and staffed clinic premises. The clinics use the Nightingale Electronic
Medical Records system. The doctors look after a Level "A" Integrated Facility
with 24 hour emergency services, 10 acute care beds and 26 long term care beds.
The Income Earning potential is over $240,000 gross per annum based on a
provincial fee for service with a 1 in 4 on call rotation. Municipal Health
Holdings bills the physicians for 30% of the fee for service in order to help
cover clinic operational costs.
An average three bedroom fully furnished bungalow house is provided rent free
for six months, after which rent of $600.00 per month would apply. A car is also
provided for the first six months free of charge, after which the lease fee
charged is $500.00 per month which includes all gasoline, insurance and other
operating costs. Also offered is a $5,000 relocation loan that is forgiven if
the physician stays with the rural group practice for a five year period.
Applicant must hold or be eligible for licensure in
Saskatchewan, and may qualify for the Rural Practice Establishment Grant Program
which provides $25,000.00 to an eligible family physician that establishes a
practice for a minimum of eighteen months in a rural Saskatchewan community. Two
positions are available immediately.
